ANCIENT LIGHT THERAPY

  SUNLIGHT - THE SOURCE OF LIFE
The use of light therapy in medicine has a long history. The first light source 
used in photo medicine was natural sunlight. Even in ancient Egypt sunlight 
was used for medical treatments. Hypocrites described the use of sunlight to treat various medical disorders. Although sunlight therapy had no scientific explanation at that time, the healing power of it was clear and Roman and Arab physicians introduced light therapy into general medical use.

Today it is known that the human organism transforms light into electrochemical energy, which activates a chain of biochemical reactions within cells, stimulating metabolism and reinforcing the immune response of the entire human body.

DEVELOPMENT OF BIOPTRON LIGHT THERAPY

At the beginning of the development of photo medicine mostly infrared and ultraviolet parts of the spectrum were used in modern light therapy. In the early 1980s, a research team of scientists created a light source that was originally based on low level laser therapy but actually worked with the full spectrum of visible light and a portion of infrared light. It  became known as Visible Incoherent Polarized Light Therapy and utilized every colour of the spectrum. These colour rays are measured in nanometres (billionth of a metre). For instance red rays measure between 650-780nanometres and are the longest rays of the spectrum. They penetrate to the deepest level of all the rays and have been used in many medical trials which are still being carried out in laboratories all around the world. It would appear that light therapy may very well be a very effective treatment of the future.

Treatments:  Bioptron VIP Light  harnesses the power of visible multi coloured light rays. The very structure of the tissues are improved as the light works to initiate reparative and regenerative processes. It promotes improved apparent tone and texture of the skin. Overseas hospital trials have shown that by increasing fibroblast activity collagen production is improved.   The polarized light reliably produces a temperature which is only 1 degree above normal body  temperature allowing treatment of burns and sensitive conditions. It is generally applied at a 90 degree angle, within 5cm from the skin. Many clinicians find that giving  a course of short treatments(2-4mins) produce better results that one lengthy treatment.

BIOPTRON UNITS: There are 3 different sizes of Lights available. All produce the same wavelengths. Only the sizes differ. The larger lamps offer a wider treatment area. Two of the lights are adapted to take coloured lenses.  The effects of  colour therapy are well documented. 



The Bioptron Pro1 is the most popular unit and is designed for use in skin clinics, hospitals,  health centres as well as private use. The unit is equipped with a timer for ease of use.  The Pro1 has a 360 degree rotating head and is supplied with a stand to enable flexible positioning. The filter diameter  is 112mm which covers a wide area (3 times the area of the compact model).

The Bioptron Compact III is as it's name suggests, the smallest unit. The width of the light filter is 40mm.  It is excellent for travelling so you are never without your light treatment.  It is designed to work with colour therapy applied to energy pathways. The stand stabilises the unit while in operation.   It is affordable for all and the most used unit around the world
